Dora Lanza

Principal & C.O.O

Dora Lanza co-founded Plethora Businesses following the successful divestiture of her previous company, a mortgage banking organization she grew from a single branch into a multi-state operation with over 175 employees across three states.

Since 1985, she has worked with business owners and with institutional and private investors. As Operations Manager for Plethora Businesses, Ms. Lanza works with business owners and dealmakers to assess the value of privately held companies and to structure and finance complex business transactions.

Ms. Lanza holds the highly coveted designations of Merger and Acquisition Master Intermediary (M&AMI) from The M&A Source and Certified Business Intermediary (CBI) from the International Business Brokers Association (IBBA) — the recognized symbols of professionalism in the M&A industry, awarded only to those who meet stringent requirements for documented M&A transaction experience and advanced education. She also holds a senior appraiser certification in business valuations, is a certified machinery and equipment appraiser and certified credit underwriter, and holds Series 79, 7, and 63 securities licenses. She is a licensed real estate broker in the state of California.

A nationally recognized lecturer and instructor, Ms. Lanza has led educational seminars and workshops for M&A intermediaries throughout the country. She served as a faculty member of both IBBA University and the M&A Source Association, where she co-authored and taught courses for M&A bankers, business professional advisors, and broker professionals. She has also been a popular speaker to professional groups on M&A topics including business sales, growth through acquisition, and negotiating the M&A process.

Ms. Lanza is a past chair of the M&A Source (www.masource.org) — the leading national association whose membership consists exclusively of M&A intermediaries specializing in lower middle market transactions. She was the first woman elected to the organization’s board and the first woman elected to chair it, and also served as its Conference Planning Committee Chair. She is an active member of the International Business Brokers Association, the California Association of Business Brokers, the Society of Business Analysts, the NEBB Institute (the National Business Brokers Institute), and ProVisors. She previously served on the Forms Committee for CABB and chaired the Participating Organizations for NAWBO’s annual Remarkable Women’s Award event.
